Tribute: Roy Kohadha, Gor Mahia’s Gone Gem

roy

Imagine waking up today
As usual you log in to facebook
You scroll down the page,
Dissapointed and
disillusioned
You can hardly trace Roy’ latest post
You wish it is not true
So you search his name
In the tongues of many,
‘Rest in Peace Roy,’ they say
You wish you could turn back
The super-sonic hands of time
Then Roy would be alive with us
Like always, he would be at the summit
Uncowed and untamed with cowardice,
Championing
the strong struggle
For a better Gor Mahia.
His brotherly smile,
Like an umbrella, would be our shade
His words, full of prudence
Like a map, would be our direction

Memories!
Aftermath of a life lived,
Behind are his recarnating images
As green as grass,
He was a diehard
Omino and Mboya’s
haemoGORbin ran in his veins
He was apt towards Gor
And when other mouth pieces turnished our name
Rooted to the ground, he fought for us
Collectively, we make a river of tears
Your demise, like a sharp arrow
Spears and sink deep in our hearts
Invincible you remain
For the fungs of death
cannot erase your
memories
Irreplaceable you are
Your void remains very large for us
Our Mandela is gone
Gor has lost a gem

Rest in Peace Brother!
