RED DEVILS WALKING ALONE AT ANFIELD

Liverpool reached the 5th round of the F.A cup at the expense of their eternal rivals Manchester United with a Kuyt goal after Ji Sung Park had earlier cancelled Agger’s opener. It was surely a sweet revenge for Anfield especially Gerrard who felt hard done last time in the F.A cup when he was controversially sent off by Howard Webb, a match Man U went on to win one nil. Matches pitting these two teams are never short of drama considering Manchester were always trailing Liverpool in terms of league titles until very recently Man U became Cham19ns.
Man of the moment Evra, showed no signs of bad blood between him and Anfield especially with his team trailing, sheer maturity carried the day in all aspects except for the Reds fan who was arrested by police for alleged racially aggravated public order offense an aspect destroying the English game.
The result thus extended Manchester poor form at Anfield dating back to 2007, the last time they did win at Anfield. Considering Liverpool have been struggling for a while in the league and have missed on the CL spot for a while now it was a welcome relief to King Kenny, a chance to win silverware having already booked a place in the February Carling final.
I don’t want to question Ferguson’s tactical ability but a change in the Trafford midfield needs to take place soon. Man U seem to lack a natural leader on the pitch in the absence of Rooney, Vidic and Nani. Taking nothing away from Liverpool, Manchester United did control the game well but lacked that killer instinct we have been accustomed to over the years. Scholes and Giggs are fast aging and the young lads need to mature really fast to fit in the competitive English game.
On the other hand, you are left wondering who on earth Carrol is in the league of EPL strikers. Liverpool is a big club that the Carrol’s and Torres’ of this world should not even be associated to such teams.  Forget his moment of genius towards the end of the match, yes he did hit the post really well but not all goals are meant to be scored using your head. . A return to Newcastle would provide an escape route for the England international who has been misfiring since his big money move to Anfield. How many times have I said that De Gea was a waste of money? No offence intended but this young man, has no attributes to be a top class act in the EPL. Manchester fans, you can swear all the insults for all I care but this Spaniard was at fault for Kuyt’s second goal. First rule of goalkeeping, get your body behind the ball a fact he got out rightly wrong.
Should Manchester go on to win nothing this season Ferguson might just call an end to his career but as always you never write off Ferguson. But again for football, it’s gonna be exciting to see the title fight between the two Manchester clubs.
For Dalgish , for Anfield, for football, the excitement, the royalty the pride of English football is back. For the Liverpool faithful, those who have always believed in the vision of the Reds, those who have always believed in Gerrard and Co who have remained true to the club even in the face of adversity, we’ve learnt you surely will never walk alone.
