Arsenal VS Chelsea, Did you Know?

  • Arsenal have won 12, drawn two and lost two of their last 16 games at the Emirates.
  • The Gunners will be without Mikel Arteta for the remainder of the season and have not won a Premier League game without him this season.
  • Robin van Persie has scored against 17 of the 19 Premier League clubs this campaign – the Blues are not an exception to this streak.
  • The Dutch striker notched a hat-trick in the 5-3 reverse fixture at Stamford Bridge, where Arsenal became the first side since Liverpool in 1996 to put five past Chelsea.
  • Chelsea have only won three of their last 19 trips to Arsenal but those have all come in their last six visits.
  • The Blues have conceded more goals (18) in the final 15 minutes than any other club in the Premier League.
  • Didier Drogba has scored eight Premier League goals against the Gunners.
  • Should Arsenal Draw Chelsea today, it then would be Arsenal’s fifth draw of the season and Chelsea’s Tenth draw of the season
  • Ashley Cole and Fernando Torres have never scored against Arsenal since both joined Chelsea from Arsenal and Liverpool respectively
  • In the last five league matches, Arsenal have won three and lost two whereas Chelsea have drawn two, lost one and won two
  • This will be the first time Drogba has not featured in both clashes (home and away) after missing the first leg and now on the verge of missing this too since his arrival at the club in the summer of 2004
  • Yossi Benayoun will not be able to feature in this tie since Chelsea is his parent club (sorry all you Gunners fans out their)
  • Mike Dean will be the referee to see this out, not an Arsenal favourite all day……..
